Context driven, adaptive tour computation and information presentation

چکیده
Standard tours combined with lack of information make many tourists miss some important experiences a destination has to offer. The target of the Dynamic Tour Guide (DTG) is to discover Tour Building Blocks (TBB), e.g. attractions like sights or restaurants, dependent on the actual context which is defined by personal interests, location and schedule of a tourist. It determines current information, e.g. opening hours or availability. It plans an individual tour, provides navigational guidance during the execution and offers information depending among others on the direction the tourist is approaching the attraction. All together the DTG is a mobile agent enabling a personalized, spontaneous and guided tour.

INTEGRATING CASE-BASED REASONING, KNOWLEDGE-BASED APPROACH AND TSP ALGORITHM FOR MINIMUM TOUR FINDING
Imagine you have traveled to an unfamiliar city. Before you start your daily tour around the city, you need to know a good route. In Network Theory (NT), this is the traveling salesman problem (TSP). A dynamic programming algorithm is often used for solving this problem. However, when the road network of the city is very complicated and dense, which is usually the case, it will take too long fo...

Applying Adaptive Hypermedia techniques to Augmented Reality museum tour guide applications promises great advances in presenting material on museum exhibits. Information selection and presentation can be adapted according to the visitor’s goals, preferences, knowledge, and interests and this information can be overlaid over the real object and its features. Existing mobile AR tour guides tend ...
متن کاملChallenges in User-Adaptive Tour Planning Systems
User-adaptive tour planning systems are tourist information systems that can make tour plans customized for individual users. Several systems have been already proposed, but such usability issues as frustrating preference/personality registration process and lack of sense of participation still remain. In this paper, we review these usability issues and discuss the following challenges for more...

The paper describes some ideas about contextualized information services based on location, user, environment, and equipment awareness. An information society where people have access to information and communication facilities wherever they are overstrains people by information overload and selection and configuration effort if selection and presentation means do not consider the context of us...
